As far as culture, the Crown Casino in Melbourne lacks the luster of the Las Vegas casino glitter and opts for more gaming driven style within an Indian Reservation mega-casino feel to it. There are plenty of games and pokies to chose from yet the clutter of mixing too many themes into a super-themed casino are raising issues about what a casino experience is all about. And while there are many excellent shops and restaurants but finding a decently priced meal may be tricky to find on off-days. There is a mixture between a shopping plaza feel and even features a cinema for watching films. If you don't mind children running around, it can be a great experience.
There are a total of 25 restaurants and 11 bars in the complex as well as a major venue for international stars to perform, it really has a big drive for being a tourist magnet. Affordable is another question with down sides including a parking lot that you need to pay to park in. What ever happened to free vallet parking (this is a major Casino?) It's also open 24 hours a day which makes it a spot to go anytime if you want to avoid the children at late hours of the night. Gaming establishments like The Crown may be big but the times are changing and this 'crown' may be in need of some crown polish.
